2010 Nighthawk PDF Print E-mail

So if you ask the scouts do they want to go on a hike for 9km, in subzero temperatures, you can't see the next base, it's night-time; would the answer be yes. YES! YESNighthawk 2010! YES!

Because it would be Nighthawk.

1280 scouts and venturers attended with patrols leaving on their adventure from 5:30pm through until after midnight. Thank goodness for the company and a warm fire. Our scouts made several appearances on the local camp radio station thanks to our neighbours - Pittsworth. On the radio John wanted to thank "all the viewers out there", Bridgette said "YO, YO, YO" while our team wanted to play "I - spy" with the audience.

GPS tracking gave the average hike distance as just over 12km. Underwood's Patrol was led by Brett and got 100% for Environment and Emergency - congratulations. In the photo and rugged up left to right back row first is John, Cordelia, Rikki, Quoll, Taylor, Patrick, Bridgette, Sunset, and Ryan. This was the before photo and no one took a photo at 4am on their return. Around the terrain the patrol's tracked were many bases to test patrol's abilities and knowledge.

During the night stories were swapped with Pitsworth, Nerangba, Marsden, Rochedale and to name a few.

Many thanks to parents Nigel, Michael, Susan, Andrena and Adele for dropping us off and the pick up with Richard, Adele, Peter.
